Songs of Y-Ail-Mihth, the Ancient Singer, Sepass Poems Audio CD

Sepass Poems in Oral Tradition ~  Without a written language these extraordinary “songs of the ancient singer” were recited to memory by the one trained to carry the culture of his people—Chief William K’HHalserten Sepass.

These 16 “poems” were meant to be heard, not read. It was only because Sepass saw the ending of his oral tradition in the early part of the 1900s, that he meticulously translated them into English with the help of his friend, Sophia White (Street). The poems have now been recorded and will be available soon for your enjoyment, capturing the original stories that become more meaningful when listened to.

The Sepass Family and Longhouse Publishing are pleased to announce these extraordinary Poems have been recorded and produced as they were meant to be—in the oral tradition, but in the English language. And in this oral tradition, cultural teachings and spiritual values bring this ancient history alive! To purchase the Audio CD, send us an email

March 25, 2017: The Sepass Poems Audio CD Launch Party at Skowkale Hall was a success! Thank you to the Sepass Family & to everyone who contributed.
